The State Educational Achievement Survey - PARAKH is a comprehensive assessment program designed to evaluate the educational competencies of students at the block level in India. In the pursuit of a greater good, focusing on a larger student population has driven a shift in assessment from district to block levels, expanding sample sizes per state.
PARAKH, under the aegis of Ministry of Education, conducted the State Educational Achievement Survey 2023, throughout the country, on a sampling basis, on November 3, 2023, for Grades 3, 6 and 9 in government, government-aided schools, private recognized and central government schools. The survey tools used multiple test booklets with 40 questions in Grade 3, 50 in Grade 6 and 60 questions in Grade 9 in Mathematics and Language.
6416 Blocks have been surveyed and assessment results are tabulated for each block separately.
A multi-department team was formed for the State Educational Achievement Survey 2023 with Prof. (Dr.) Indrani Bhaduri, CEO & Head, PARAKH and Head, Educational Survey Division, NCERT as principal coordinator. Other departments who contributed for the assessment survey include Ministry of Education, CBSE, KVS, NVS, PARAKH, Expert Committee Members, etc.
